The agricultural industry is critical to our health and well-being, but COVID has damaged the industry and left farmers struggling. Kathy Schmaltz will work to fix the disruptions in the supply chain to help American farmers fill our store shelves. She will support both the Michigan’s Right to Farm Act and Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program.  These programs are vital so farmers can innovate without interference from the government, and so they are provided assistance in adopting conservation and risk mitigation plans. Additionally, Kathy will work to develop a program to promote Michigan farm products nationally and abroad.
